Belles At The Ball

Monday night saw the rich and famous strutting their stuff on the red carpet at the entrance to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in aid of fashion's biggest event - the Costume Institute Gala, complete with superhero theme.

Many a celebrity was in attendance, including the Beckhams, Julia Roberts, Eva Longoria, Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise - but what really matters around here, the models, are the ones who really stole the show.

A good amount of the industry's most prominent models were there as guests of the top designers. The best dressed of the night included regular guests Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, wearing Atelier Versace and Tom Ford respectively (pictured); Jessica Stam in Proenza Schouler; Karolina Kurkova in Vera Wang; Natasha Poly in Phi; Liya Kebede in Jonathon Saunders and Kate Moss in Stella McCartney.

Relative newcomers to the guestlist included Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, looking stunning with new bangs and in Burberry Prorsum (pictured); Lily Donaldson, also in Burberry Prorsum; Doutzen Kroes in threeasfour, Anja Rubik and Coco Rocha, both in Pucci and Jourdan Dunn in Bill Blass.

Overall the night was an overwhelming success on the model front, and witha wide choice of afterparties to keep them going into the early hours, it's really no suprise!

Yes, it's that time of year again where american men vote for who's hot (and in some eyes rather NOT) for the upcoming year. This year's list sports a healthy set of models, not suprisingly topped by Brazil's hottest export Alessandra Ambrosio ranking at No.2, only losing out to actress Katherine Heigl. Here's a list of all the models that ranked in the Top 99 for 2008;

Kate As We've Never Seen Her Before?

Supermodel Kate Moss has her lawyers busy trying to gag her drug-addict ex-boyfriend, Pete Doherty. The Babyshambles frontman is negotiating with Britain's ITV2 network to tell all about their romance and share his x-rated home videos of her in a documentary titled "Kate & Pete: A Love Story."

Doherty, who split with Moss last summer, could make $1 million, a source said, adding, "Producers hope he'll let them use a lot of film he and Kate shot on camcorders." But an insider told PageSix.com, "Kate is furious with Pete. She has contacted her lawyers and plans to get an injunction to stop the production."

Moss will be horrified if the tapes surface. "Some of it is really raunchy stuff Kate believed would never be seen by anyone else," we're told. "She'll feel betrayed."

2008 Campaign Rumours

It'll be all change at the houses of Versace and Yves Saint Laurent next season, if whispers in fashion's inner core are to be believed. We hear that Gisele is preparing to give up her lucrative contract with YSL in favour of one at Versace, while Donatella's current muse, Kate Moss, shouldn't be too upset about leaving the label – she is off to step into Gisele's shoes at YSL. And after making such a splash for Chanel's cruise collection, it seems Karl Lagerfeld has made it all official and shot Claudia Schiffer for the house's spring/summer 2008 ready-to-wear campaign, too. Confused? Don't be - with months to go until the campaigns launch, the tongue-wagging hasn't even started yet.
