We interrupt this blog for Breaking News: Justin Timberlake MAY have dumped Jessica Biel for Rihanna

See how alarming this SPECIAL REPORT image is? I'm using the Justin Timberlake/Jessica Biel/Rihanna break-up and possible hook-up as an example of the news in Seattle this week.

Is there any real reason to interrupt "regularly scheduled programming" for THIS SPECIAL REPORT to advise us on...wait for it...

POSSIBLE RAIN IN SEATTLE?!? Oh, that's right, my dollies. I had to sit through our local weather man panting over the possibility of RAIN for the "drive home tonight". You have GOT to be kidding me.

I'll tell you where this little fit of rage originated. (I've been holding on to it  until today.) Just a few weeks ago we all re-lived September 11th by watching news footage of the horror of that day. So, I'm going about my business (I always have the TV on--CNN in this case), and they interrupt a story with the big scary announcement THIS. IS A SPECIAL. REPORT. 

"HOLY SHIT!! WHAT???? OHMYGOD, it's 9/11....WHAT???" was the voice in my head. (I hear her a lot...but she meant it this time.) "WHAT IS IT, MAN????"

Oh. It seems they "would like to bring you live coverage of President Obama's speech today on healthcare." 

Any. Other. DAY. I'd be fine with that, but never, EVER on 9/11. YOU GOT THAT, CNN?? Okay, I'm a little slow off the mark, I'll admit it. But I think you get my point.

So, yeah. Rihanna and Justin? Here's what I've heard:

"Apparently, Rihanna has been seen getting closer than close with Justin Timberlake, who she had a crush on years ago.  Justin is working with Rihanna on her next album has had major chemistry with Rihanna and even got a couple of lap dances from her in the studio according to a source.  The source says the two have been inseparable since the VMA’s where they got it in on the dance floor at a VMA after party:

“Rihanna and Justin have been talking and texting on the phone nonstop since the VMAs. She asked him on the phone, ‘Are you still with Jessica?’ And he hinted that things were cooling off between them.”

Justin was spotted going to Ri-Ri’s hotel room that night, which didn’t sit too well with Justin’s on again, off again girlfriend, Jessica Biel."

The moral of this story: Don't put up the SPECIAL REPORT graphic on 9/11 unless it's really serious; and don't interrupt me if it might rain IN SEATTLE--it's a GD given!

HAHAHAHA! There are a LOT of "too bads" (literal and sarcastic) about this craziness.

1.) Too bad this was Jenny Slate's first appearance on SNL...and she drops the F-bomb. Awesome. It was fucking hilarious. Look at her "OOPS!" face.

 2.) Too bad Lorne Michaels probably reamed her a new one after the skit was over. Hey Lorne?? Your sinking ship is getting a lot of much needed press. Shut the EFF up, and leave Jenny alone.


3.) Too bad Kristin Wiig is such a pro that she didn't even flinch. That was awesome. And


4.)  Too bad this makes up for stupid Megan Fox's hosting.

It's called a win/win. 

Oh dear. The nun's didn't enjoy Lada Gaga's MTV VMA performance. Whaaaa?

No. I simply cannot believe that Catholic nuns didn't quite care for Lady Gaga's performance piece (which is what it was, in every sense) on Sunday night's MTV VMAs. (Eyeroll.)

"Finally somebody takes attitude against Lady Gaga’s behavior! Her own fans were freaked out by her bloody appearance at MTV Music Video Awards while singing her ‘Paparazzi’ hit. Note that Gaga’s fans are mostly teens, (I think most of her fans are the gays and they GOT it!!) so imagine what this new deadly-sexy singer teaches the little ones. Beside them, Gaga’s former teachers were shocked!

If you didn’t know, Lady Gaga (on her real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) was matriculated for several years, guess where…in New York, at the Convent of the Sacred Heart girls school, New York Post reports. So she was preparing to be a nun!!!

“When someone showed the nuns a video of her bloody performance at the VMA Awards, the good sisters were not amused”, the report added."

Ummm...whose bright idea was it to show this to the nuns in the first place? What they don't know about their former student won't hurt them, I always say. (Actually, I don't always say that.)

My point is: It was a METAPHOR, people!! Well, kind of a literal metaphor, if you will. Stars have a love/hate relationship with the paparazzi and Lady Gaga's performance, I felt, was brilliant. It was kind of, "yeah, chase me, wound me, leave me alone, chase me, oh dear, you killed me" sort of statement. You can't tell me Lindsay Lohan doesn't love every. Goddamned. Second. of her time with the paps--we all know she even tips them off as to her whereabouts. It's almost as though she's got a deep-seated deathwish so that she will become iconic like her tragic idol Marilyn or Michael Jackson. (I got my Psych Degree from Sears, fyi.)


Then we do have the Princess Diana side of things, don't we? She, too, manipulated the European press and paps, but they (and a drunk chauffer) killed her in the end.


The performance certainly required discussion between kids or teens and their parents--but the nuns most definitely didn't need to watch it, forPITYsake.

 

President Obama's speech to our children about "staying in school" seems to be controversial; why is that?

 Will your children be listening tomorrow?

President Obama is speaking to our children today. The main topic of the speech is education; "Stay in School", seems to be the idea President Obama wants to get across. Yeah. Pretty controversial, huh?

My children are no longer in school, but I tell ya what: If my boys were in school--no matter what their age, I would love for them to listen to their President speak to them. I can't think of another President who has actually taken an interest of this magnitude in the nation's children and their education...not to mention speaking directly to them as human beings.

For pundits (Glenn-Effing-Beck!) to even suggest this speech smacks of Hitler recruiting children to "join him",  is the craziest thing I've ever heard.

Glenn Beck: Obama speech more evidence of the "indoctrination of your children."

On his radio show, Beck discussed Obama's speech with a caller and said, "On Tuesday, the president is going to be speaking to classrooms and your children, if they go to school -- K through sixth grade, I believe. You know, hey, get 'em while they're young." Beck added that he was planning on airing "a special one-hour broadcast next Tuesday on television on the indoctrination of your children," explaining that he decided to air "it on that Tuesday because of Barack Obama speaking [to students] on that Tuesday." Beck continued: "Gang, you have a system that is wildly, wildly out of control, and they are capturing your kids. As [special adviser for green jobs] Van Jones himself has said, the earlier we get the kids, the earlier we make this adjustment with the youth, the easier this transition is going to be. Stand guard America. Your republic is under attack."

What. The. Hell????

Everyone needs to just simmer down. I don't know how a speech by The President of the United States to our children about staying in school, having goals and being good citizens suddenly turned so hateful and hideously racist and polarizing.
